Criollo beach volleyball adds its second win at the Central American Games

The athletes Delgado and Oscar Kirchner added their second beach volleyball win at the 25th Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games by beating Guatemalans José Izaguirre and Edgar Maldonado in two sets, 21-14, 21-9, at the Malecón Deportivo in Santo Domingo.

In the first set, the Venezuelans achieved 15 successful attacks in 24 attempts, executed four blocks and took advantage of the rival's 8 errors to take the set by seven points ahead, details the Ministry of People's Power for Sports.

The victory was consolidated in the second half with another 12 sudden attacks, a couple of blockades and 7 failures by Los Chapines.

With this victory, Venezuela secured their way to the quarterfinals, still waiting for this Wednesday's match against Dominicans Hayerling de Jesús and Oscar Martínez to define first place in the A bracket.
