The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel confirmed that there are no talks with the United States government, except for technical contacts in the field of migration.
As reported by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the Cuban president responded, through social networks, to Donald Trump's speculations made on Sunday about alleged negotiations with Cuba, although he did not provide any supporting information.
“Cuba has always been willing to hold a serious and responsible dialogue with the various governments of the United States, including the current one, on the basis of sovereign equality, mutual respect, principles of international law, and mutual benefit,” said Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
He stressed that any approach must be without interference in internal affairs and with full respect for our independence.
He recalled that the origin and extreme tightening of the blockade are not related to Cubans living in the United States, pushed there by that failed policy and by the privileges of the Cuban Adjustment Act.
