The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, denounced the computer attack against the operation of Petrleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), stating that it is part of the pressure actions promoted by the United States against the Bolivarian Government.

“We denounce the cyber attack against PDVSA, aimed at paralyzing the operation of this important Venezuelan institution,” said the head of Cuban diplomacy on the social network X.

Rodríguez said that the digital aggression is aimed at interrupting the operations of the state oil company, a complaint that coincides with the report published on Monday by PDVSA, when the company confirmed an attempt to invade its administrative system.

PDVSA denounced that this type of attack is part of a Washington strategy to appropriate Venezuelan energy resources, recalling that the working class in the sector has already faced similar situations in the past.

The episode comes a few days after U.S. authorities reported the hijacking of a Venezuelan oil tanker. Caracas rejected the measure and described it as an act of international piracy.
