The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, rejected on Tuesday the decision of the United States government to suspend visas that enable international medical cooperation to take place, the Telesur website reported.
Through his X account, the Cuban foreign minister stressed that the new decision shows how the Trump administration, and especially the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, “places their personal agenda ahead of U.S. interests.”
Rodríguez also indicates that this arbitrariness constitutes “the seventh measure of unjustified aggression against” the Cuban people in just one month.
Since the arrival of the Trump administration to the Oval Office, several measures of maximum pressure have been consolidated against the Cuban Government and, consequently, against all Cubans.
Six days after the outgoing administration, Biden removed Cuba from the list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism, a measure that was radically revoked by Trump on his first day in office.
The incoherent measure limits Cuba to more viable access for the purchase of raw materials that supply essential sectors of the country, such as health.
In addition, under this premise, the Island is seen before the world as a state in favor of terrorism, which cuts off any type of commercial exchange with the entire international community, which directly affects the jugular of the Cuban economy.
In addition to all this, Trump specified that he would revoke 78 of the “destructive and radical executive actions” that Biden had eliminated.
“We are going to sign executive orders first, I will revoke nearly 80 destructive and radical executive actions of the previous administration, one of the worst administrations in history,” Trump said.
Trump's new governance also assures that everything he has been developing responds to a “tough policy” towards Cuba.
This, according to Secretary Marco Rubio, is to protect the United States and help the Cuban people, which is totally illogical because the revoked measures only harm Cuba's economic stability and interfere with the normal development of Cubans.
