Founded on December 29, 1960, with the vision of boosting the nation's industrial engine from the south of the country, the Venezuelan Corporation of Guiana (CVG) became the governing body of an ambitious comprehensive development project. For six and a half decades, it has been the backbone of strategic national industries such as their basic companies, which have boosted productivity in the Iron-Steel, Aluminum and Service sectors.

Through management that is responsible for ensuring adequate production, with the highest international standards, CVG companies have positioned themselves among the main bases of import substitution, designing products that make it possible to supply different areas of the nation 's economic and social development.

Venezuelan exports have strengthened, taking iron ore to different countries, demonstrating the ability of working people to take advantage of their resources and turn them into tools that strengthen the economy.

The basic companies of the CVG produce under rigorous quality management supervision, highlighting the achievement that some have obtained by granting them international ISO recognition, which confirms the safety and efficiency of their products.

The CVG has not only established itself as an industrial complex, but it is also the core of the development plan for Ciudad Guayana, one of the most important planned cities in the country.

In the framework of this anniversary, the authorities of the Corporation have emphasized that, despite the challenges, the CVG maintains its validity as an instrument of the State to continue strengthening the productive area and economic diversification of Venezuela.
