Hundreds of children
participated in the display of tradition, joy and popular organization, which
took place last Sunday, January 25 in the San Agustín parish of
Caracas, with the activity “Parrots for Peace ”.
The emblematic
bridge that connects San Agustín del Norte to the South, in the La Ceiba sector, was
transformed into the stage where the dreams of the little ones took
flight, within the framework of the national project “Our Culture is Peace”.
This initiative,
which seeks to strengthen Venezuelan identity and promote spaces for
harmonious coexistence, allowed girls and boys from the Comuna Invicta with Maduro not only to
enjoy the game, but to appropriate ancient knowledge.
Under the guidance of local parrot
masters, the attendees explored the
history of this traditional toy, learning that each wooden frame and
each sheet of tissue paper carries a message of freedom. With their
own hands, the infants made their parrots and then raised them over the urban landscape of Caracas, filling
the sky with colors and laughter.
The success of the
day was possible thanks to the effective articulation between
organized Popular Power and the Venezuelan State. The planning and execution of the event
was carried out by the Invicta Commune with Maduro, working together with its
head of culture and the technical team of the Cultural Mission.
