The incumbent president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced this Wednesday that, thanks to the process initiated last December by President Nicolás Maduro, there have already been 406 releases of people deprived of their liberty for hate crimes.
“As of today, we can say that there are already 406 releases planned these days. The message is very clear, the message is a Venezuela that is opening up to a new political moment, which allows understanding based on divergence and ideological political diversity, but it must be with respect for the other, it must be with respect for human rights,” said Rodríguez from the Miraflores Palace, in national and international media statements.
However, he warned that “messages of hate, intolerance, acts of violence will not be allowed”, and that “compliance with the law will be strict”.
“This opportunity is for Venezuela and for the People of Venezuela to see reflected a new moment where coexistence, where coexistence, where recognition of the other allows us to build and build a new spirituality,” he stressed.
