The
Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, paid
tribute this Friday to the revolutionary leaders Eulalia Buroz and Josefa
Joaquina Sánchez, whose symbolic remains are being transferred to the National Pantheon, in the framework of International Women's Day.
From Plaza
Bolívar in Caracas, the last stop on his way to the Mausoleum, Rodríguez stated
that Father Liberator “marks the path of these two Venezuelan heroines, who
follow the pedestal of the Fatherland to the National Pantheon. In Eulalia Buroz, in
Joaquina Sánchez, there is the spirit of the indestructible woman of Venezuela.”
In the tribute to
these heroines of the Fatherland, the Vice President highlighted the spirit of
resistance “of that young Eulalia, who began the fight at just 15
years old to defeat the realist oppressor (...) that Sanchez woman who gave her
life, who both gave their lives also for the process of independence”.
He said that “today we Venezuelan
women who are setting an example to the world in this process
of defending Venezuela's independence, dignity, historical morality, and
our heroines, want, today, March 8, with that invincible spirit, to
pay homage to these two women,” he said.
