The president in charge
of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reported this Friday
that she held talks with the leaders of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da
Silva; of Colombia, Gustavo Petro; and of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro
Sánchez, to whom she detailed “the serious criminal, illegal and illegitimate aggression”
perpetrated by the United States (USA) against the Latin American country.
“During these
exchanges, I reported in detail on the armed attacks against our
territory, which resulted in the murder of more than a hundred civilians and
soldiers, as well as on serious violations of International Law,
including the violation of the personal immunity of the Constitutional President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and of
the First Lady and First Combatant,
Cilia Flores,” Rodríguez said on his channel Telegram.
In the contacts,
the authorities agreed “on the need to advance a broad bilateral
cooperation agenda, based on respect for
international law, the sovereignty of States and dialogue between peoples”.
Rodríguez
thanked “in a special way” Lula “and the people of Brazil for the
accompaniment and support provided to Venezuela at the most critical moments
after the aggression suffered.”
“With
President Gustavo Petro, I confirmed that Colombia and Venezuela are
sister countries, committed to moving forward together to face and resolve the
problems that affect us in common, based on mutual respect and regional
cooperation,” he said.
Regarding the
conversation with the Spanish President, Rodríguez stressed that he appreciated the
courageous position of his Government, “condemning the aggression against Venezuela”.
In addition, he raised the interest of the Bolivarian Government “in working together
on a broad and beneficial bilateral agenda for both peoples and governments.”
“I reaffirmed that
Venezuela will continue to face this aggression through diplomatic channels, faithful to
the principles of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, as the only path for the
defense of our sovereignty and the preservation of peace,” he emphasized.
