This Thursday, July 23, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed that today the fight for peace is the same as that given by Jorge Rodríguez Sr., who was cruelly murdered and tortured during the Fourth Republic.
“We were also fighting for a Venezuela, which is today's Venezuela, that of justice, security and social equality, but the same threats of two centuries ago are present today against Venezuela, of those who want to strip Venezuela of its wealth to hand it over to Washington and its satellite governments, it's the same battle and that's why it's a battle between peace and fascism,” Rodríguez said from the General Cemetery of the South, where a tribute to Jorge Rodríguez Sr. for his 48 years of planting.
He stressed that today the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, is at the forefront of that battle with the People. “For peace, for the defense of our sovereignty, so that no one comes to govern us and the Venezuelan people govern,” he said.
He emphasized that this is why we always honor our martyrs, because they are men and women who gave their lives for the Fatherland.
