Denmark announces military reinforcement in the face of US threats to appropriate Greenland

The Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, warned that her country is increasing its military strength in response to continued threats to the appropriation of Greenland, issued by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

“We are fully engaged in strengthening Denmark's defense and readiness. Never before have we increased our capabilities so markedly. So fast,” said Frederiksen, RT reviews.

During his New Year's speech, he also announced that they are working to strengthen security in the Arctic, recalling that during 2025, the Nordic country had to deal with threats, pressures, derogatory language, “coming from our closest ally, for generations about the desire to take over another country, with another people. As if it were something you could buy and own.”

In that sense, he emphasized that there is no place for that anywhere. “We fulfill our responsibilities in the world. We are not the ones who are looking for any conflict. But let no one have doubts: whatever happens, we will stand firm on what is right and what is not,” said the head of government.
