The deputy of the National Assembly (AN) Luis Eduardo Martínez affirmed that the Venezuelan people act together to safeguard the stability of the country and urged the countries of the Caribbean and Latin America to strengthen regional defense against the actions of the United States Government.

During the meeting of Parliamentarians of the Greater Caribbean for Peace, he affirmed that national mobilization transcends partisan divisions and involves workers, students, producers and organized communities. “We are one,” he said.

He questioned the narrative of the supposed fight against drugs promoted by the United States and denounced attacks on vessels in the Caribbean and the Pacific. He assured that the survivors were handed over without trial to their countries of origin, which he defined as a violation of rights.

Martínez warned that what Venezuela is facing today may be repeated in other countries in the region. In that regard, he invited international delegates to visit the country's communities to verify popular support for sovereignty.

He reiterated that even opposition sectors support the defense of the territory and called for maintaining unity as a guarantee of continental peace.
