The Deputy Minister of Anti-Blockade Policies, William Castillo, assured that the Anti-Blockade Act protects Venezuelans from blockades imposed by the United States on the economy,

In the José Félix Rivas room of the Teresa Carreño Theater, during the commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the delivery of the project of this legal instrument, he reported that Venezuela has between 24 billion and 30 billion dollars blocked in the international financial system. He denounced that the empire uses these funds to finance parallel governments. “Venezuela has never suffered this aggression. We are a generation that has seen the sanctions that have been imposed on the Venezuelan people, but despite that, with great force we have overcome these aggressions,” said Castillo.

The Cuban ambassador to Venezuela, Dagoberto Rodríguez, read a document that argues the establishment of the blockade in his country. Rodríguez considered that Cuba is facing a “total economic war” aimed at affecting Cubans in all facets of their lives. “It's an economic war that affects all Cubans, whose objective is to create hardship for those who defend the political project. They do not allow surrounding countries to develop and impose measures against those peoples. But we will continue to stand up for political and social transformation together with peoples like Cuba and Venezuela,” Rodríguez said.

These statements highlight the solidarity between Venezuela and Cuba in the fight against economic aggressions and the defense of their political projects. The commemoration of the Anti-Blockade Law highlights the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to protect its people and strengthen resistance to international sanctions.
