Deputy Minister Endes Palencia: More than 2,900 officials will protect devotees of the Virgin of the Valley

From the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Valley, in the state of Nueva Esparta, the Deputy Minister of Prevention, Public Security and Peace Quadrants, Endes Palencia, activated a special comprehensive protection device, with the objective of guaranteeing the peace, tranquility and well-being of thousands of devotees on the occasion of the patron saint festivities in honor of the Virgin of the Valley.
The operation involves the participation of 2,980 personnel from the Public Security Agencies and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), deployed to serve an estimated influx of 50,000 parishioners.
Palencia was accompanied by the entity's Secretary of Public Security and commander of the Strategic Region for Integral Maritime and Insular Defense (EDIP Insular) , C/M José Medina, and the commander of Integral Defense Zone 71 (ZODI), V/A Pedro González Rubio.
During the activity, Deputy Minister Palencia reported on the deployment of officials from the police forces, the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), the FANB, Civil Protection and the Fire Department, with the support of the 64 Peace Quadrants active throughout the island.
This deployment will ensure comprehensive care, public order, crime prevention, road safety and primary medical care for the thousands of parishioners and visitors who will come to the sanctuary.
