The member of the Finance, Economy and National Development Committee of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Ramón Lobo, assured that after the recent approval of the Mining Law, this legal instrument will be a fundamental engine for the country's financial results in the short term.
During an interview on Globovision's Primera Página program, he stated that “I am completely sure that productive growth or expansion for this year will be much higher than what we obtained last year, which is important to note that it was above 8.5%”.
He emphasized that the regulations have already exceeded their first management goals, according to the parliamentarian, the process is now moving towards the discussion of specific contracts to make them operational.
“We just passed the Mining Act last week. This will generate results and the first phase is to attract investors and that has been achieved,” he said.
On the other hand, Lobo also referred to the licensing policy granted by international organizations, pointing out that, although they allow certain economic movements, they are not the definitive solution that the country requires.
In this regard, he asserted that in Venezuela the sanctioning scheme has not been repealed, but that licenses have been issued for specific economic events associated with oil and mining, “but we don't want licenses, what we want is for the sanctioning scheme to be lifted.”
“We don't want licenses, we want the sanctioning scheme to be lifted and that will give him even greater security,” he said.
He stressed that what Venezuela needs is for the sanctions scheme to be definitively repealed to provide greater security for investors.
