Derailment of the Interoceanic Train in Mexico leaves 13 dead and a hundred injured

The derailment of the Interoceanic train in Mexico left 13 people dead and 98 injured this Sunday, according to the Secretariat of the Navy of the Aztec nation.
The reports detail that of the injured, 36 require hospitalization, while the rest have less serious injuries.
In a statement, the Navy expressed its “deepest condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in this regrettable accident,” and reaffirmed its commitment to act “with the utmost responsibility, transparency and compliance with the law, providing immediate support to those affected.”
For search, rescue and assistance tasks, the Navy deployed an operation with 360 naval elements, 20 vehicles, four ground ambulances, three air ambulances and a tactical drone. The institution reiterated that it continues to work in coordination with the other competent authorities to clarify the causes that caused the tragic derailment.
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, personally addressed the tragedy by confirming the fatal outcome and announcing government actions on the social network X. In his message, he announced immediate actions to support those affected: “I have given instructions for the Secretary of the Navy and the Undersecretary of Human Rights of the Ministry of the Interior to move to the place and attend to families in a personal way.”
Sheinbaum said that the Secretary of the Interior will coordinate the work and thanked the governor of Oaxaca and his team for their support.
