After appearing before the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), within the framework of the Contingent Electoral appeal filed by President Nicolás Maduro, the governor of Zulia and representative of the Party A New Time (UNT), Manuel Rosales, asked for respect for the results of the elections of last July 28, but did not present the alleged minutes published by opposition extremism and its standard-bearer Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia.
Speaking to the media, from the headquarters of the country's highest court, Rosales said that his political cover is part of the inconsistent results presented by the Unitary Platform through an unofficial web portal. “We don't have to present anything” to the Supreme Court, he said.
He indicated that the parties that represented González Urrutia answered the Supreme Court's call despite the fact that the former far-right candidate refused to appear, once again ignoring the institutionality.
“We faced an exhaustive interrogation separately because of the electoral process of July 28 and we are here and it is good to reiterate it on behalf of the people of Venezuela because like all of us we are demanding respect for the vote,” Rosales said.
He stated that “we all have the right to reasonable doubt, we all have the right to demand a result”, but, when questioned by the alleged tests of González Urrutia and María Corina Machado, he reiterated that “it has already been done through the platform”, which has no validity.
