Dialogue Table is declared in permanent session until August 12

The president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, this Thursday, August 6, issued a statement informing that the process of talks began between the Delegation of the Bolivarian Government and the Delegation of the National Assembly (AN) in 2015, with the installation of the Plenary, where the methodology, work cycles and the ratification of the agenda on issues that will address this process were agreed.

In the statement, published by Rodríguez on his account on the social network Telegram, he explained that “the first cycle of work will be in permanent session until Wednesday, August 12 and the continuity of the Plenary will be defined, taking into account the priority that this process has for the well-being of Venezuelans.

He also noted that the parties subscribe to the principles of respect for national sovereignty, negotiation in good faith and the search for benefits for Venezuela, a political, peaceful, democratic and constitutional solution, recognition and mutual respect between the parties, political equality and equal treatment at the table, verifiable compliance with commitments, protection of human rights and the political rights of all forces.

In the letter, it is also reported that it was agreed to inform the entire country in a timely manner of the progress made in these talks.

The working meeting was held at the Simon Bolivar Park Convention Center. As indicated in the statement, the previously agreed agenda was ratified, which addresses three central issues, relevant to Venezuelan society, such as: first, Care for victims of the double earthquake: To provide answers and measures in the face of the double earthquake recorded last June 24.

Second, there is the Strengthening of Democracy: Reinstitutionalization and Renewal of Public Powers, such as the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and the National Electoral Council (CNE).

A third item on the agenda are Political Rights and Guarantees: Agreements on rights and guarantees for different actors in the national political landscape.

The delegation presented at that meeting by the Bolivarian Government is composed of Jorge Rodríguez, Ana María San Juan, Jorge Arreaza, América Pérez, Génesis Garvett and Pedro Infante.

For its part, the opposition commission is represented by Dinorah Figuera, Marco Aurelio Quiñones, Ramón López, Jorge Millán Matheus and Sergio Vergara, while the support commission for this sector will be made up of Macario González, Desiree Barboza, Julio César Moreno and Elimar Díaz.
