The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Citizen Security
and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted this Tuesday that the
security agencies of the Venezuelan State have dealt a serious blow to the
logistical structure of drug trafficking through hard intelligence work.
“Without a doubt, when we hit the logistics structure,
we are tearing a leg out of the table. It is not sustainable,
because they require all the support of a number of people for the different
operations,” Cabello said during a press conference in which he announced the
seizure of more than 7 tons of drugs, in the first days of the year 2026.
In this regard, he said that, if drug traffickers
use boats, “they need fuel or repair, if an engine is damaged.
By car it's a little easier for them, but the amount is smaller. On
airplanes, not everyone has access to an airplane.”
“By destroying their logistics route, they are going to look for the terrestrial
alternative and there they are more vulnerable for us. Why are they more
vulnerable? Well, the high seas are different, the maritime route off the coast of Venezuela or
the Orinoco river routes are different with all that they mean,” he stressed.
The Minister of People's Power for
Internal Relations, Justice and Peace also praised the work of security officials. “It's
a dedicated job, of people who know how to do their job, the comrades of our Bolivarian National Armed
Forces, of our police forces, of our people
who are waiting.”
