This Thursday, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the swearing in of the governor of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez (for the period 2025-2029) urged those elected to understand that they have a position to work for and for the People.

“If you come to politics believing that you are going to have benefits, you are wrong, you came to that position to commit to your people for the office for which you were elected,” he said.

Likewise, the general secretary of the PSUV recalled that the governors of the Fourth Republic were fighting for their deputies to be in the National Assembly, “because that's where the additional appropriations were being discussed. A deputy has to go to the Assembly to pass laws and give more power to the People.

Cabello stressed that this symbolic activity is marked by history and in the promotion of democracy, giving more power to the People, which is why “the National Electoral Council has called for new elections on July 27; mayors, councilors and the Youth Popular Consultation. Democracy? Come to Venezuela.

“In the Constitution there is an entire chapter dedicated to indigenous peoples... There was a group that was not willing to recognize rights and Commander Hugo Chávez had to get involved,” he stressed.

Likewise, Cabello valued the maturity of Popular Power. “The people know what they have to do, they know where to go. And as that happens, the Revolution will be stronger and the process of being irreversible will begin...”

“The president has given an order,” he said and in this context he assured that those elected to Amazonas must work in the state, “they are due to the People, to the collective, not to an office.”

“Congratulations to the state of Amazonas, I am leaving here and leaving with the spirit of a million; I pay tribute from the bottom of my heart to the original peoples,” he concluded.
