Diosdado Cabello: In Venezuela, the Republic's weapons rest in the hands of our people

During the day of supervision and deployment of the Management Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI) of the states of La Guaira and Carabobo ordered by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, the sectoral vice-president for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, highlighted the level of preparation achieved by the Venezuelan people in training for the defense of territorial integrity.

“This prolonged active resistance operation that our people assume with integrity, with strength, always with the humility that characterizes us in Venezuela,” he pointed out while stressing that “in Venezuela, the weapons of the Republic rest in the hands of our people.”

He recalled that this day is in addition to those that have been taking place across the country for just over 8 weeks.

He specified that “among the actions we have, we range from the protection of strategic oil facilities; petrochemicals, oil pipelines, gas pipelines, gas pipelines, service stations and fuel fillers. There are also electrical stations.”

He specified that the checklist of the ODDI “are to direct and supervise as a priority the following activities; to organize the movement of the population to protective works, such as tunnels, basements or natural shelters, caves, etc., to coordinate with the single health authority the organization of medical personnel for the care of the affected population, if there is an affected population; to keep the record and control of all heavy machinery for the execution of rehabilitation work of communication routes; with the General Staff of Food, provide for the storage and distribution of food for the population and members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces; constantly guarantee the supply of drinking water; with support from the director of the Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation, control the dispersion and protection of essential means of transport; maintain the Command and Control of Communications through of radio media, community networks that make it possible to inform the population of the situation, places of protection, security measures, preservation of life and, above all, that the will to fight and to win of our people remains firm, is maintained without any hesitation”.
