During his Con El Mazo Dando program, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that the U.S. empire actually has 70 million poor people, and instead of taking action to serve its inhabitants, he is determined to attack Venezuela.

In this context, he stressed that despite this situation, “they are determined to see problems elsewhere, not in the United States, and they have them there. The monster keeps growing every day if they keep ignoring it.”

In this regard, during issue number 549, he stated that the lack of a budgetary agreement that keeps the United States government closed affects both 4.4 million employees, but also “that affects people who live on subsidies, social programs.”

“They say that 44 million U.S. citizens receive a food bag or bonds as a subsidy. They are not receiving it. According to the numbers they are not 44 million but 70 million poor people in the United States,” he said.

Cabello stressed that the Bolivarian Revolution must not close in the face of cases of extreme poverty, or because of people deprived of their liberty, “here is a serious and revolutionary Government that takes care of them and goes further.”
