The first vice-president of the
United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón,
during the usual weekly press conference of the red awning, when
asked about María Corina Machado's call for a
march for next August 17, wished that “hopefully they don't generate violence”.
Cabello specified
that the extremist right always applies the same script of summoning its
followers to generate violence, because “that is their way of doing politics.”
He indicated that the right wing intends to wash their hands after
generating the violent acts, since “they want to do damage control so that they do not link
them; not only are they linked, but they are very clear that they financed
and added violence to an electoral process that had ended in peace.”
The leader of the red awning reiterated that when the
right wing makes attacks “it is affecting anyone, because of the enemies of
the Fatherland”. He also ridiculed a Haitian citizen who
said that the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, “died yesterday (Sunday, August 11), even set the time and they made him famous,
they put their hope in a witch from
Haiti, instead of pinning their hopes on the work of doing politics.”
