The general director of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), Douglas Rico, called for the conscience of drivers during the return of the seasonal workers as part of the operation Carnavales Seguros 2026, and urged caution to be maintained to avoid accidents that endanger life.
Rico asked citizens to reflect on the responsibility involved in driving a vehicle or motorcycle.
“See your family, your children, the person who accompanies you. Protect them. Only in your reasoning is the security of those who go with you. Avoid excessive alcohol and recklessness; don't become just another number of statistics,” he said.
The director general recalled that security agencies are mobilized to accompany the population, not to confront them.
“Our officials are not your enemies. Respect authority and collaborate with guidelines. Your behavior directly affects everyone's lives,” he said.
Rico highlighted that this year there has been a reduction in traffic accidents, but insisted that the objective is to reduce them to a minimum during the return.
“The lives of seasonal workers are very important. We want everyone to return to their homes safely,” he said.
From the state of La Guaira, he reported that security forces are active following the instructions of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, and the sectoral vice president for citizen security and peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
