The head of the Anti-Drug Division of the Bolivarian National Police Corps (CPNB), Juan Carlos Romero, reported that during the first quarter of 2025, this police force has seized 506 kilos of different psychotropic substances through 537 procedures across the country, resulting in 683 people being arrested.
During his participation in the radio program “The National Anti-Drug Superintendence, Always With You”, Romero explained that among the drugs seized are marijuana, cocaine and crack, with the states of Falcón, Aragua and La Guaira being the most affected during this period, according to Prensa Mpprijp.
In the same way, Romero highlighted that during 2024, in terms of drugs, this division managed to seize 4,432 kilos with 567 grams of drugs, through the development of 2,531 procedures, in which 3,352 people were apprehended.
The Head of the Anti-Drug Division of the CPNB stressed that, thanks to the perfect Popular, Military and Police fusion, promoted by the Commander in Chief, Nicolás Maduro, “we as State security bodies, through this social intelligence, have had a greater reach in the communities, which has allowed us to activate the corresponding intervention mechanisms.”
“Without the people we will not be able to. For this reason, the Great Peace Quadrants Mission has increased the culture of complaint among citizens, which has led us to reach the last corner of the country,” Romero said.
In the area of crime prevention, he reported that, through the “Police Go to School” Program, the Bolivarian National Police Force has managed to serve 5,000 young people through different spaces and activities, which has allowed a comprehensive and wide-ranging approach to this population.
Finally, Romero invited the population to go to the competent mechanisms when faced with this scenario: “You can contact us through the different mechanisms, through which you can request information, report and request talks on anti-drug matters,” he concluded.
