The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) confirmed that Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa's Noboa Trading company operates with international drug trafficking. The information was confirmed by the United States Department of Justice agency (USA) through a published report.
Through the investigation, the DEA reaffirmed that the company Noboa Trading, part of the business group of the president of Ecuador, has links to international drug trafficking in cocaine to operate.
In the text, the North American organization explains how from the private port in Guayaquil of Noboa Trading Co, the most important conglomerate in Ecuador, it has contaminated banana containers with narcotic drugs that are exported to several countries, especially in Europe and that are used for international drug trafficking.
“The DEA investigated the extensive involvement of Noboa Trading Co. and the family conglomerate Noboa in cocaine trafficking operations between 2020 and 2025. The evidence documents more than 12,900 kg of cocaine linked to Noboa exports in multiple countries, revealing a systematic pattern of exploitation of one of Ecuador's largest banana exporters by drug trafficking organizations,” the report detailed.
Previously, during a presidential debate after being rebuked by the candidate of the Citizens' Revolution, Luisa González, the Ecuadorian Executive responded: “Although I am not an owner myself, members of my family are in that company” and added that this company “has cooperated in every case.”
