Edible fats and oils industry will accelerate production

To accelerate the production of edible fats and oils, the Minister of Popular Power for National Trade, Luis Antonio Villegas, held a meeting with the Association of Representatives of this Business Sector (Asograsas), a meeting that marks the beginning of a working group and dialogue with the productive areas of Venezuela.

The meeting also served as a platform to strengthen the national industry, so the Minister explained that through the Iron Hand Plan, sales levels of domestic products were increased. “The quality levels of domestic products are unique in the world. We are determined to stand up to the criminal dollar. The actions implemented in the Economic Cabinet have allowed the creation of a new currency allocation model that seeks to balance the market,” he said.

For their part, representatives of the Manufacturing Company Registry (REM) also actively participated in the discussion, and expressed their willingness to reverse adverse situations affecting the industry. “The price of raw materials is improving, and there is a good intention behind our actions. We are all paddling towards the same destination,” they said.

The importance of this space is a call for collective awareness to untangle critical knots affecting both producers and consumers. We are on the right track and what is conquered cannot be given up. The commitment of the National Government is to continue listening and working together with the private sector,” emphasized the head of National Trade.
