The Meridian rider Eduin Becerra of the Trululu La Guacamaya Team was crowned champion in the sixtieth edition of the Vuelta al Táchira by bicycle.

The 39-year-old cyclist maintained control during the last stage, a 117-kilometer urban circuit in San Cristóbal, where he secured his place in the history of national and international cycling.

The Venezuelan managed to climb to the top of the podium after finishing first in the standings with a total time of 29 hours 11 minutes and 08 seconds.

Becerra said he was very happy to be able to write his name among the champions of the Vuelta al Táchira. “This is a dream come true. I am in the most privileged place for any cyclist,” he said.

He also congratulated his colleagues for all the work done.

Becerra was accompanied on the podium by Jorge Abreu from the Banco Plaza Fina Arroz Multimarcas team and José Alarcón from the Trujillo Government, second and third, respectively.
