The National Secretariat of the Bloc of Resistance and Popular Rebellion (BRP) has filed a lawsuit of unconstitutionality before the Supreme Court of Justice of El Salvador, a legal action that denounces the kidnapping of Venezuelan migrants deported from the United States.
The document presented establishes that these arrests violate several articles of the Constitution of El Salvador, including the right to personal freedom, equality and non-discrimination, due process, and the exclusive competence of the Judicial Branch to impose sentences. It is also noted that the Constitution prohibits the conclusion of treaties that undermine the fundamental rights of individuals.
The lawsuit requests the immediate suspension of the agreement between El Salvador and the United States that allowed these arbitrary detentions, as well as the release of affected Venezuelan migrants.
