With the objective of strengthening the electrical system in the eastern region, the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) carried out preventive maintenance at the Santa Cruz, Catuaro and Espuga electrical substations, located in the state of Sucre, benefiting more than 5 thousand families.

These technical maneuvers, focused on vegetation control, are part of security policies aimed at minimizing service interruptions caused by environmental factors, in addition to ensuring the continuity of energy supply in the municipalities of Ribero, Andrés Eloy Blanco, Andrés Mata and Benítez.

The maintenance day, according to a press release from CORPOELEC, was carried out with a deployment of crews that addressed internal and external areas, achieving the total clearance of 0.26 hectares of land and preventive technical sanitation to protect power equipment, eliminating electrical risks due to plant contact at the Santa Cruz substation.

Likewise, in the Catuaro and Espuga substations, priority was given to the robustness of firewalls, vital elements for the protection of transformation bays in the face of high temperatures.

In total, 1.80 cubic meters of undergrowth were cleared of security perimeters, providing access routes for immediate operational maneuvers.
