Escuque celebrated 416 years of faith and love for the Sweet Name of Jesus

With the motto “Baby Jesus, Counselor of Peace 2026", the people of Trujillo, and especially the inhabitants of the “land of clouds”, celebrated 416 years of faith and love for the patron saint: the Sweet Name of Jesus de Escuque.

The holiday reported by the Últime Noticias portal began with the solemn pontifical Eucharist presided over by Monsignor José Trinidad Fernández Angulo, bishop of the Diocese of Trujillo.

“Today we raise signs and songs to the Lord in the name of the Holy Child Jesus of Escuque. May he transform our hearts, because whoever seeks the sweet name of Jesus praises him,” he said.

More than 100 personnel were deployed at the event, thanks to the support of the State Government and citizen security agencies, to ensure the protection of their own and visitors.
