Estudiantes de Mérida won at the start of the decisive phase of the FUTVE 2026 League, in a new edition of the Andean Classic, 2-1 against Deportivo Táchira in a vibrant match played this Saturday at the Metropolitan Stadium of Mérida, corresponding to the first round of Group B of the quadrangular final of the Apertura Tournament.

The local team scored in the 5th minute, through César Magallán and Kevin Quejada extended the lead in the 37th, but the rival sought to react and in the 42nd minute, Uruguayan defender Guillermo Fratta scored headlong after a set ball play, placing the final 2-1.
