Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez emphasized that from Venezuela we ask for respect for international law, respect for the Charter of the United Nations and respect for the treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
“We must end forever the opacity that exists about nuclear weapons in Israel, which completely threatens a region whose countries do not have nuclear weapons,” said the vice-president, during a meeting with the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Venezuela.
He emphasized that President Nicolás Maduro has called for an urgent and immediate Summit of Heads of State with the impetus of countries of the global South seriously committed to multilateralism.
“We hope that at this summit we will be able to make progress and that Western Asia will be a zone free of nuclear weapons like we have in Latin America,” he said.
He asserted that the Middle East deserves stability, peace, just as the Palestinian people deserve, that the genocide be finally stopped and that they stop murdering their children and women.
In that regard, he recalled that the number of people killed by Israel in Palestine is scandalous, approaching 60,000 of whom 45% are children and women. “They have denied him the right to the future of a people,” he said
