Under the slogan “Inheritance in Four Strings: Sound Brushstrokes of the Venezuelan Four”, the Red Art Foundation will celebrate the National Day of the Venezuelan Four, with the reopening of its store and gallery located in the historic center of Plaza Bolívar in the Libertador municipality of Caracas.
According to information from the Ministry for Culture, at the event that will take place on April 16 starting at 2:00 p.m., the ancient sounds of Cambur Pintón will resonate in a unique exhibition of four, prepared by the Network of Sound Builders or at the national level. These artisans have dedicated their lives to researching and documenting the process of creating the four, an emblematic musical instrument of traditional Venezuelan culture, highlighting its importance inside and outside the national territory.
This exhibition is a well-deserved tribute to instrument makers, true alchemists of sound, who with their expert hands give life to wood and strings. The work of musicians, guardians of our traditions, is also recognized.
During the reopening of the artisanal store, outstanding visual artists will fill the shapes of the Venezuelan musical instrument with colors and harmony, commemorating this encounter of indigenous knowledge to the rhythm of Cambur Pintón. Among them are: Zulay Mendoza, Eduardo Borandellis, Neglys Oropeza, Laura Pérez, Josefina Guerra, Raíza Lara, Hugo Mariño, Iván Guerrero, Yaumara Osorio, Guadalupe Sánchez, William Camposano, Víctor Rosales, Pablo Pérez, Verónica Maizo, Milagros Verenzuela, Karel Bermudez, Lieselotte Citerio, Elizabeth Revet, Edgar Guerrero, Vicky Rojas, Rosa Maican, Enrico Armas and Aura Moreno. These artists will capture in the body of four expressions of popular art and design, representative of the cultural identity of the Venezuelan people.
This celebration is held in honor of the decree of April 4th as National Day of the Fourth, highlighting the virtuosity of the new generations of creators and performers of this musical instrument.
