Exports from Venezuela to Colombia increased by 92% between 2022 and 2025, and also in that same period, exports from Colombia to Venezuela grew by 300%, the Telesur website reported.

The recent data was provided by the director of the Procolombia Agency, Carlos Luna, who described commercial exchange between the two countries as “exponential growth” and stated that it is a matter of maintaining this trend.

However, he emphasized that there are challenges, such as the need for Colombian businessmen to visit Venezuela to learn about the installed capacity of their industry, identify business opportunities and establish alliances.

Venezuela promotes the diversification of its exports, with the incorporation of new products and the strengthening of its international trade relations.

One of the key initiatives is the entry of the military industry into the export market, which began sending coffee to Russia as part of its import substitution strategy and the Economic Independence Plan.

In addition, significant growth was observed in non-oil products, and trade with Colombia stands out with the export of products with low added value, such as iron and steel smelting, fertilizers, aluminum, fuels, oils and organic chemicals.

The forestry and dredging sector of the Orinoco River, run by the Venezuelan Corporation of Guiana (CVG), allowed the company Maderas del Orinoco to expand its operations. This made it easier to export wood chips for construction to China and the Middle East.
