This Friday, January 23, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), through the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, published a statement in the framework of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Taking of El Callao, a historic event in which the Liberation Army expelled the last imperial vestige from South American lands.
The text highlights that this heroic feat opened the way to free, sovereign and independent peoples of the region.
“That is why today, two centuries after those deeds, Venezuela reaffirms its resolve to continue following its own path, without submission to hegemonic interests or foreign agendas,” the document highlighted.
It also exalts the lesson of “unity, determination, iron patience and discipline” left by the Takeover of El Callao, in connection with the military aggression of last January 3, stressing that empires, “however powerful and arrogant they seem, and however impregnable their economic and technological walls may be, end up giving way to the unwavering will of peoples determined to be free”.
