FANB disabled three aircraft destined for drug trafficking

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) disabled three drug trafficking aircraft in the state of Amazonas, to add to 433 aircraft disbanded since the enactment of the Air Space Defense Control Act.

In this regard, the commander of the Strategic Integral Defense Region No. 6 Guayana MG. Wilfredo Medrano Machado, explained that during “border patrol missions, two illegal tracks prepared by cross-border groups were located in the Atabapo municipality to be used as a platform for drug trafficking.”

In this regard, it became known that three aircraft were located that “were illegally violating national sovereignty with the transponder turned off and without the respective authorization of the INAC and FIR Maiquetía”.

“In the territory of Venezuela, no drugs or psychotropic substances are planted, processed or consumed; we will not allow our sovereign space to be used as a platform for drug trafficking,” the FANB reported.
