Last Friday, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in the state of Guárico disabled two planes that entered the country illegally and after the investigations and evidence found, it is presumed that they were carrying drugs.

The GJ. Domingo Hernández Lárez, Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, reported that in a first operation, officials disabled an invading aircraft associated with drug trafficking, at a makeshift runway headland in flagrant violation of Venezuelan national sovereignty, current aeronautical regulations and national security and defense plans.

Hernández Lárez added that the aircraft entered national territory at a low altitude, without a transponder and without any type of identification; the same day a second aircraft was seized in the Aguaro-Guariquito National Park for the same crimes.

“According to field investigations, during the on-site verification by ground patrols, traces of the alleged drug were located, which leads to the suspicion that it was used for international drug trafficking. It fights daily and head-on against the scourge of drugs. Venezuela is a territory of peace, law and justice,” he said.
