Within the framework of the Bolivarian Shield Strategic Operation “Independence 200”, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) dealt a new blow to drug trafficking structures, after detecting and disabling a twin-engine aircraft that intended to violate territorial sovereignty.

With this year-end operation, Venezuela has reached the number of 40 unused aircraft so far in 2025, as reported by the Strategic Operational Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez.

He explained that the white aircraft, without identification initials or flight plan, was detected during reconnaissance and patrol work in the Pedro Camejo municipality of Apure state, the Integral Aerospace Defense System.

“Faced with the flagrant violation of air regulations, the corresponding protocols were activated using the Sukhoi 30 weapons system, locating the unit in the vicinity of a forest in the border area,” said the Strategic Commander.

The military action was based on current operating procedures, stipulated in the National Security and Defense Act and the Control Act for the Integral Defense of Airspace.

“The aircraft was declared hostile because it lacked transponder systems and official permits, so the military corps proceeded to its total destruction on the ground to neutralize its use by groups that generate violence,” said Hernández Lárez.
