As part of Operation Roraima 2025, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) dismantled a logistics camp dedicated to illegal mining in the Bolivar state.
Through his social networks, the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported that troops attached to the Caroní River Rapid Reaction Unit (URRA) carried out a patrol in the Chiguao River, achieving the infiltration of ground combat elements, allowing the location of a field dedicated to the extraction of gold material and a logistics barracks, which was destroyed.
During the operation, they seized and destroyed various materials used for the illegal extraction of natural resources, such as 300 meters of high-pressure hose, 5 sieve-like structures, 12 motor pumps, 700 liters of diesel fuel, 15 drum-type plastic containers, 2 power plants and 40 liters of oil.
“Environmental conservation is a citizen's duty, any type of river mining is prohibited in any national hydrographic basin,” concluded Hernández Lárez.
