Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) were deployed throughout Venezuelan territory to transport electoral material to be used in the fourth National Popular Consultation, scheduled for Sunday, November 23, as well as to ensure voter safety.

In statements given to Venezolana de Televisión, the commander of the Central Strategic Integral Defense Region (REDI), M/G Jesús Villamizar, explained that 23,560 members of the FANB and citizen security agencies will be deployed in the 782 voting centers in this region in the states of Carabobo, Aragua and Yaracuy.

In addition, the commander of the Oriental REDI, M/G Juan Sulbarán, reported that more than 16,000 uniformed personnel will be mobilized in the states of Anzoátegui, Monagas and Sucre, for the 1,049 existing voting centers in those entities.

He stressed that the FANB will support the National Electoral Council (CNE) as the governing body throughout the electoral process, protecting voters and guaranteeing the protection and custody of the technological and non-technological electoral materials and instruments that will be used during the process.

“These popular elections are the democratic method of participation implemented in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, so that communes and communal councils choose projects aimed at meeting the needs of their communities, in addition to being involved in their execution,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, in Anzoátegui, “a joint, unified and comprehensive operation will be carried out, with the use of 5,093 personnel in the 378 voting centers in the 204 communal circuits, in accordance with the events scheduled in the electoral schedule, and must at all times ensure respect for constitutional guarantees, dignity, human rights, public order, peace and the tranquility of Venezuelan homes and families,” said the commander of the Integral Defense Operational Zone (ZODI), G/D Norber Torres.

Finally, the commander of ZODI Monagas, M/G Romerl Romero Domínguez, stressed that they will employ 3,327 members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and citizen security agencies in the 302 voting centers in the State of Monagas, “achieving the leading role that will guarantee their full individual and collective development, as indicated in article 62 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”.
