The prestigious International Children's and Youth Film Festival 2026 (FIFEJ 2026) awarded the Venezuelan film “Ali Primera”, with the jury's special mention for “Best Soundtrack”.
The FIFEJ in Tunisia is one of the main film events in North Africa, dedicated to introducing Tunisian children and young people to international cinema as a tool for learning and expression. Its 15th edition was held in Sousse from April 6 to 11, with the screening of some 60 films from 35 countries and the participation of approximately 10,200 young people in screenings, workshops and educational activities.
Among the countries awarded for their films, together with the stellar Venezuelan film, the mentions awarded to Jordan, Tunisia, Russia, Egypt and Iraq stand out.
The Venezuelan ambassador to Tunisia, Reinaldo Bolívar, congratulated director Daniel Yegres, with whom he maintains frequent contact for the purpose of promoting the film “Ali Primera” at the main Tunisian festivals.
The music for the feature film was composed by Manuel Barrios and Eduardo González, together with an outstanding team of sound engineers and musicians who made this sound proposal possible, including Juan Carlos Yegres, Jesús Torres and Amaranta Pérez.
With this recognition in Tunisia, the film reaffirms its ability to connect with diverse audiences and position Venezuelan cinema in important international settings, carrying with it a message of identity, memory and social commitment.
Ali Primera, known in Venezuela as “El Cantor del Pueblo”, is one of the emblematic figures of the song message and protest by Nuestroamericana.
