FILVEN Monagas will pay tribute to historian and writer Luis Peñalver

The 20th edition of the Venezuelan International Book Fair (FILVEN) will arrive in Monagas next Thursday, January 30, to honor writers from all over the country and especially to the outstanding historian and writer, Luis Peñalver Bermúdez, winner of the 2018 National History Award and professor at the Libertador Experimental Pedagogical University.

In addition, the book festival, which will be held in the eastern state until February 1, will be held on the ground floor of the Lotería de Oriente, on Avenida Bolívar de Maturín, where lovers of reading can enjoy the content of the 23 publishers, institutions and the same number of regional and national exhibitors that will participate.

On this occasion, as guest of honor, the national writer Nereyda Ferrer, from the state of Falcón, will accompany the activity with the presentation of the collection “Historical Insurgences: Cimarrona Afroepistemologies” by the publisher El Perro y La Rana and the presentation of the book “Hugo Chávez: Convocante de la Patria Liberada”, Iremu Femsur editions.

Among the activities programmed at FILVEN are talks, poetry recitals, book presentations and a children's pavilion with recreational and cultural activities for children with the aim of promoting the art of reading and poetry.
