First Combatant Cilia Flores: Women are attacked because they know their strength

The first female fighter of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Cilia Flores, greeted and congratulated the women and men who accompanied them in the march commemorating their day.

“Women are attacking us because they know the strength they represent and the power they have, that's why they attack with sanctions because they think they are going to be distracted and reduced, but they don't know us and they don't know where we come from,” she said.

In that sense, she said that “Venezuelan women have grown up in the face of these attacks and that is why they are the vanguard in this process of struggle (...) Today, more than ever, we are united and fighting and accompanying a Revolutionary Government that, just as Chávez did, is our president Nicolás Maduro, a feminist president who fights for women's rights.”
