The first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, denounced the set of actions and narratives invented by the United States government against Venezuela and the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

During the meeting of Parliamentarians of the Greater Caribbean for Peace, he stressed that these initiatives seek to justify military intervention against Venezuela.

“Since January, the U.S. government has linked the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to criminal organizations such as the Aragua Train and the so-called Cartel de Los Soles. These false accusations are part of a strategy to build arguments that support measures against our country,” Infante said.

He added that this year the law on foreign enemies has been invoked to criminalize immigration from Venezuela and other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. “They have tried to present an alleged invasion of migrants into North American territory, as part of a narrative that seeks to justify aggressions,” he said.

Infante also warned about the use of disinformation campaigns. “These actions are projected into the informational field through a cognitive war, aimed at distorting Venezuelan reality and constructing false stories,” he said.
