In the framework of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, ratified that Venezuela maintains its commitment to respect it as a way to achieve a definitive, peaceful and sovereign solution.
“Today, the Bolivarian Government ratifies its commitment to respect the Geneva Agreement to achieve a definitive, peaceful and sovereign resolution of the territorial dispute, an unfortunate legacy of colonialist interference,” he said through his Telegram channel.
In that context, he recalled that the Geneva Agreement is the only existing instrument to address in a fair and equitable manner the territorial dispute over Guiana Essequiba.
He reaffirmed that Venezuela will continue to fight for its historic rights, always respecting what is established within the framework of the said agreement. “The Venezuelan sun rises in the Essequibo!” , he said.
