Foreign Minister Gil hailed “courageous demonstration” at the White House against US military deployment in the Caribbean

The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, welcomed this Saturday the demonstration of the American People, in front of the White House, against the military deployment of the Donald Trump administration in the Caribbean, which threatens peace in the region.

“The same American people denounce the war machine of the United States Government, which diverts funds that should go to social programs aimed at their own population to finance the sending of troops and warships to the Caribbean and threatens the territorial sovereignty of Venezuela, with the objective of seizing our natural resources,” Gil highlighted on his Telegram channel.

On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, the Venezuelan diplomat praised this “courageous demonstration”, in which the population of the North American country “demands the cessation of interventionism and wars against other countries, while the American people still face the lack of access to free health services and other fundamental rights.”
