Through a telephone contact for Venezuelan television, the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, provided details about the XIX Midterm Ministerial Conference of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (MNOAL).
From Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, the Venezuelan foreign minister stated that the meeting of the MNOAL was held, where 121 nations participated, which defend the values of the United Nations Charter.
“During the meeting, the Special Declaration on Threats Against Venezuela was approved, where five fundamental points express concern about the military escalation in the Caribbean against Venezuela, which represents a threat to all Caribbean nations,” he said.
Gil, said that “the MNOAL supports Venezuela in terms of its position of alerting the world to how dangerous military escalation is in the Caribbean, which has violated the strategic peace treaty in Latin America, declared by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in 2014.
He also added that this movement “called for stopping the deployment of war, not to continue threatening this zone of peace, to abstain from threats and to respect its sovereignty. This shows that Venezuela's position is correct, and that it is accompanied by the nations of the world.”
