The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, highlighted the participation of representatives of the Venezuelan State in the international meeting that celebrates the anniversary of the declaration of the Latin American region and the Caribbean as a zone of peace, at a time when the Venezuelan nation was subject to armed imperial aggression and the kidnapping of the presidential couple.
“We participated in the International Meeting for the 12th Anniversary of the Declaration of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. This meeting was fundamental to reaffirm our commitment to a region that rejects militarization, armed conflict and foreign military aggression. In addition, we have denounced the military aggression suffered by Venezuela on January 3, as well as the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and the First Lady Cilia Flores, incidents that undermine the essence of the Zone of Peace, unanimously proclaimed by all CELAC member States since 2014,” the foreign minister wrote on his account on the social network telegram.
