The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and the Venezuelan People, congratulated Nicaragua and especially the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) for the electoral process last Sunday.
“On behalf of President @NicolasMaduro
and the people of #Venezuela, we congratulate the Nicaraguan people and the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) for the strong democratic demonstration that ended with the important victory in the Caribbean elections in our sister Nicaragua,” the foreign minister wrote in his account on the social network X.
This Sunday, March 3, the inhabitants of the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua (North and South) held their regional elections in peace and order, according to local press reports.
For the electoral holiday, 300 voting centers were set up, in which 500 thousand people over 16 years of age were convened to exercise the right to vote.
The results of this process positioned the FSLN as the political force with the greatest impact, with 89.86% of the votes.
